"Teased as a kid for being tall, Capital City Wonder Woman now inspires kids' confidence."

"LANSING – Katie Whittaker knows what it’s like to be teased as a child.

Growing up in Delta Township, Whittaker was a tall kid.

In fact, by age 7 she was nearly 5 feet tall. She was taller than her second-grade teacher. She remembers walking stoop-shouldered so she wouldn’t stand out. Her classmates’ taunts about her height and Greek surname – Koutsouvilis -- stung.

That was then.

Today, Whittaker, 32, flaunts her 6’1” height.

And when the DeWitt mom of four transforms to her cosplay character, Capital City Wonder Woman, she rises to a full 6’4” tall  superhero.  She’s based on the DC comic book heroine portrayed by Gal Gadot in last year’s movie, "Wonder Woman."
